The Brunswick County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting and grand opening on August 5^th for Ocean Isle Beach Aviation. Attendees enjoyed drinks and hot dogs, an airplane flyover and a parachute exhibition. Mrs. Virginia Williamson and Ms. Debbie Smith, Mayor of Ocean Isle Beach, cut the ceremonial ribbon. The airport is located at 6070 Beach Drive in Ocean Isle Beach.

The Brunswick County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting on August 5^th for Kentucky Fried Chicken of Shallotte. Attendees enjoyed refreshments and received discount coupons and tours of the restaurant, which is located at 348 Whiteville Road, Shallotte. Hours of operation are 10 a.m.-10 p.m.
